Madame Tussaud is a wax museum in London with smaller museums in other major cities. It was founded by wax sculptor Marie Tussaud.
It is a major place to attract the tourist in London that displays the wax sculptures of famous and historic personalities and popular film characters. There are some of the most interesting facts about this museum that tourists can not restrict themselves visiting there. Madame Anna Maria Tussaud was a real person. Her mother was the housekeeper for Dr. Philippe Curtius who used to make wax models. She learnt the art from him. Madame Tussaud own statute can be seen in her museum that was created just eight years before she died. She became more famous for her work than her mentor due to the mastery in her work. Once they posed as wax models themselves and nobody could suspect the foul. Madame Tussaud Museum of London was once hit by German bombs in 1940, destroying more than 350 head molds. Once Hitler’s wax models head was ripped off as an attacker did not want to make Hitler a piece of attraction for anyone. Mother Teresa was among those who declined to be a part of the Wax museum. About 150 measurements are taken to create a good likeness of the person. All figures are made two percent larger than the person really is. There are some small models of fictitious characters like Shrek, the Burger King, and the Incredible Hulk.
