Second-seeded N. Sriram Balaji and sixth – seed N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth have to fight a lot in the battleground. It was not easy for them to enter quarterfinals of the Indian Oil-ITF Futures tennis tournament at the TTC courts in Trivandrum.
Balaji fought against Mohit Mayur and he came through 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Vijay fought tremendously against Tejas Chaukulkar. Vijay scored 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-3 while fighting against Tejas. Top seed Prajnesh Gunneswaran scored 6-3, 6-4 to win over Jui-Chen Hung.
Trivandrum’s hero Haadin Bava won over seventh-seeded Rishab Agarwal with 7-5, 6-2. Balaji took first set with two breaks of serve. He even wrapped the third set of the match with two breaks. Vijay, in contrast, was stuck in the deep problem as Chaukulkar took a lead with 4-0 in the second. Victorious Vijay came back into his form and once the match was levelled, Vijay won in rest of the sets.
