We as Indians have experienced great festivals from Diwali to Christmas, all around the year we are occupied with unique festivals, celebrations having their own culture and a story. But have you ever known that there is a festival where people play in mud or another one where exquisite ice and snow sculptures are exhibited. Here is the list of top 5 most unique festivals which we all must see before we die:
• Harbin ice and snow festival, China
A festival that incorporates and presents the most exquisite ice and snow sculptures in the world. The sculptures are sure to fascinate anyone. Every year people in China build incredible things out of ice and snow and decorate them with lights and lasers. This exhibition offers a lot and it’s phenomenal and eye satisfying to watch it.
• Burning Man, USA
The name itself is so compelling that one would definitely want to know what exactly it is. Burning man is actually an event that is held annually where up to 48,000 people gather at Black Rock desert. People gather to create art and express their individuality.
• White nights festival
The White Nights Festival is an annual international arts festival but the uniqueness that it carries is it is conducted during the season of the midnight sun. It consists of a series of classical ballet, opera and music events and also includes performances by Russian dancers, musicians, singers and actors.
• Carnevale, or "Carnival,"
We all must have heard about this. It has been a Venice tradition since the 13th century and people flock from all over the world to attend and participate in the event of masked celebrations. The celebrations are no doubted one of the best parties on Earth.
• Dia de los muertos (Day of the Dead), Mexico
You might be aware of Halloweens, but this is different. It is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and also around the world in other cultures too. The Mexican holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends who sit together and pray. They also remember friends and family members who have died. They honor the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and also visit their graves with these as gifts.
