Wimbledon 2018 Tennis Matches Will Be Screened in Ultra HD Via BBC iPlayer

Tennis fans will now be able to watch the complete Wimbledon 2018 matched in ultra high definition for the first time. The tournament will start on 2 July. All Centre Court matches would be played on BBC iplayers as a part of a new BBC trial. Live matches will be screened daily on BBC Two, BBC One and BBC Radio 5 live. And there will be around 16 live HD streams playing on BBC Sport Website and app.

Sue Barker is going to lead the television coverage from 11.30 BST daily. Barry Davies will be retiring and a special BBC documentary will be honoring the long serving commentator. The documentary is named as Barry Davies: The Man, The Voice, The Legend and it will air on 4th of July. Tennis legends like Boris Becker, Billie Jean King and Grand Slam winners like Pat cash and Tracy Austin will give their expert views. Barbara Slater, director of BBC sport stated that the team can not wait to bring the most prestigious tennis event to the widest possible audience with their digital services and TV and radio. What is BBC Ultra HD trial? BBC Ultra HD trail is part of ongoing project to get BBC ready to cover all major live events freely over internet in high quality on their iplayer. The trial is already featuring BBCs World Cup 2018 coverage.
