Supernovas on 10th May 2019 defeated the velocity team by 12 runs to block the number one spot on the table. While the Velocity teams ends at the number two spot so there will be a re-match between the two sides for the title of Women's T20 Challenge.
Rodrigues who was the main star of the match with the bat, she scored an unbeaten 77 off the 48 balls following which the Supernovas came up the point table along with a well-disciplined performance with the ball. Velocity also qualified for the finals. It took velocity 19 overs for them to reach 117 runs. So they were short of 23 runs to win in the final over. As it was important to reach the mark of 117 runs for Velocity so as to fix the spot at finals, they are not through to the final. While they were 23 runs short with one over left, as reaching to 117 runs is important because that will guarantee them a place in the finals even if they lost the semifinals game against the supernova. They were at 92 for 3 after the end of 15 overs, needing 51 more runs for a victory. For Velocity the key striker from the ball was Poonam Yadav as after a couple of tight overs gone through, the pressure of the scoring was hampering Wyatt, who in attempt to slog-sweep, was bowled by Poonam for 43 runs of 33 ball. Velocity are 79 for 3 after 12, needing 64 more. Velocity at one time was shedding wickets but positive despite this. Fifty was scored by Rodrigues. While scoring two successive fours off the over by Bisht, the 18-year-old player gets her maiden fifty in the ongoing Women's T20 Challenge, getting her fifty only off 31 deliveries. Just when Athapaththu brought Supernova at a great stage and looked set for a good score. Then there was a very good partnership of of 55 between Athapaththu and Rodrigues. The match started when Mithali Raj won the toss and bought Supernovas to bat first.
