“World Day of Social Justice”

On every 20th February, World day of social justice is celebrated. This day was created by the United Nations. It’s based on the principle of social justice, to promote gender equality or the rights of indigenous peoples and migrants. To remove the barriers that people face in their daily life because of gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture or disability.
Fair Globalization is just one recent illustration of the UN system’s devotion to social justice which was adoption by the International Labour Organization of the Declaration on Social Justice.
In 2009, the United Nations General Assembly had decided to celebrate the world day of social justice to be observed on 20th February.
What do people do on this day?
Many organizations present plans for social justice managing poverty, social and economic exclusion, and unemployment. Trade Unions and campaign groups also participate in this day. They are invited to call on their members and supporters to blemish that day. “Social Justice and Decent Life for All” is the ordinary slogan proclaimed by the Russian General Confederation.
As it is based on the theme of poverty, social and economic exclusion or unemployment- schools, colleges, and universities may also participate by preparing some special activities for the day or may plan a week of events.
On this day, different media like radio stations, television, newspapers and many social sites or internet websites give attention to the issues around the World day of Social Justice.
International Criminal Court conducts trials of summoned genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.
The World Summit for Social Development was held in Copenhagen, Denmark which resulted in the Declaration and Programme of action, in 1995. More than 100 political leaders were present at this summit and they pledged to make the vanishment of poverty as well as stable, safe and just societies, their overriding objectives.
Nearly after 10 years, in February 2005, in New York, the Copenhagen Declaration and program of action were reviewed by the United Nations member when they gathered at a session of the commission for social development.
Every 20th February, labeled as the annual World Day of Social by the UN General Assembly
Justice, on 26 November 2007. The first time this day was observed in 2009.
