Former left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan, who leaded Indian bowling attack in the International matches and got numerous victories for the country is currently the director of Cricket Operations at Mumbai Indians franchise of Indian Premier League. The main feature in the bowling attack as their main pacers like Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Jason Behrendorff are suffering from surgeries as injury layoffs and therefore the defending champions needed some good bowling strength in the upcoming season to regulate their bowling department and hence the recent trade of pace bowlers is the response to that. The former Pacer who was a crucial part of the 2011 World Cup winner team also laid imphasis on the thing that 2020 IPL season would be at another level as the team statistics are also changing gradually. As Mumbai Indians have retained their previous core team players including the stylish Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga while releasing 12 under performing players, MI has retained 18 core team players which counted their name in the winning of 2019 season of IPL title. While for the upcoming season the trade ins are kiwi seamer Trent Boult, West Indian veteran paver Sherfane Rutherford and Mumbai pacer Dhawal Kulkarni are the three trade-ins for the franchise. "The core of the team of the defending champian is very stable and highly experienced so the 2020 season is going to be a different one," Zaheer said in a video message.
