SAME LOCATION BUT GREAT PERFORMANCE AFTER A YEAR

Sherman Indian is a Native American Government-funded boarding school where students from all over the country came. A year before at the Riverside Sherman Indian, Brandon Cryder’s boys basketball team went 19-1. They lost to the Temecula Linfield Christian.

Just a year later, Cryder’s team entered the school’s first CIF-Southern Section divisional semifinal playoff game with a No.4 seeding. This is a historic victory for the team.

 “Pretty excited, it’s the first time in history ever in the semis and was the first time in the quarters” said Brandon Cryder.

He also added that the memories of the happenings of the previous year lit a fire under their team. Taking of the team, he mentioned ““We’ve had some guys that have been in the program the last four years that have been able to really grow. That’s been nice.”

Those team members whom he mentioned are three-year varsity seniors including 6-4 Jonathan Dewey, from Wyoming; point guard Kobe White Eagle, from South Dakota; and 6-foot-6Anthony Running Horse, from South Dakota.

However, Sherman Indian who won the Arrowhead League for the past two years failed the Riverside Carnegie team for the league title.
