Joint Family V/S Nuclear Family
General News | Jun-19-2021
The nuclear family is small in size which consists of 3-4 members whereas the Joint family consists of 2 or more nuclear families combined which is more than 4 members.
It is rightly said that family forms the basis of a child's development. It is a child's first school where s/he learns about the surroundings, behavior, discipline, etc. A joint family, for this reason, is better for child development than a nuclear family because a joint family being big in a number of members give the child more things to learn, love, and care whereas in a nuclear family, parents even if they try to, cannot give that much time to their child. But one advantage of the nuclear family can be is that child will have a better sense of decision-making and independence which might lack in a joint family.
If we talk about money, a joint family is less expensive to live in than a nuclear family. But if members of a joint family are mostly dependent on one or two members then it will be very expensive and burdensome.
By looking at the size of a joint family, people can assume that it will be more loving and caring to stay in but if members are fighting with each other, the size of the family becomes more of a problem.
Overall both families have their own pros and cons, so we cannot choose one family over the other. Family is made up of people, so if they are good as individuals, they will surely form perfect families whether it's nuclear or joint.
