Bollywood Biopics Of Great Sport Players

Biopics became the trend of the season. Over a previous couple of years, many biopics are being churned out from Bollywood. While most of those attempts at recreating a person’s, biography have proved to be commercially successful, but what caught our attention is that the majority of the biopics are supported by the lifetime of sports personalities. Not all of those movies were the simplest reflections on the lives of their subjects, but every movie had one standout feature that made it worth a watch.

1. M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story, starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, Anupam Kher, and Bhumika Chawla, directed by Neeraj Pandey, released on 30 September 2017

Sushant Singh Rajput looks exactly like Mahendra Singh Dhoni during this biopic. Whether it’s the visual communication, the cricketing shots, or his characteristic simplicity, the actor has channelized every aspect of the superstar cricketer with great effect. during this film, we also saw a superb implementation of CGI. During the runtime of the film, many iconic moments from Dhoni’s career like winning the t20 World Cup and winning the ODI World Cup were recreated.

2. Budhia Singh: Born To Run, starring Manoj Bajpayee, Mayur Mahendra Patole, and Tilotama Shome, directed by Soumendra Padhi, release on 5 August 2016

Possibly one among the foremost under-appreciated sports biopics in recent history, Budhia Singh was supported by the exceptional 5-year-old who was the talk about the planet in 2006. This movie had an excellent strong performance by Manoj Bajpayee as Biranchi Das, Budhia’s coach. Even the young actor Mayur Patole playing as little Budhia gave an honest and authentic performance. The highlight of this movie was the spirit of 1 young boy and therefore the resilience of his coach to form him a sporting sensation against the govt and political pressures.

3. Azhar, starring Emraan Hashmi, Nargis Fakhri, Prachi Desai, and Lara Dutta, directed by Tony D’Souza, was released on 13 May 2016

The screenplay and direction on Azhar left tons to be desired, but the one reason to observe this movie is Emraan Hashmi’s performance. Irrfan Khan’s performance during this modest-budgeted movie was the anchor. a powerful statement within the human drama that gets authentic because it draws inspiration from the real world.
