Different Cricket Tournaments

Cricket is one of the most popular sports worldwide. Cricket has their fans also love to watch cricket matches whether it’s a team series tour for a series or whether it is a domestic league like IPL (Indian Premier League), BBL (Big Bash League), CPL (Caribbean Premier League), etc. The ICC is the head of all the international cricket boards. ICC organizes different types of cricket tournaments for the entertainment of the fans of each cricket format. In recent, the ICC has launched the world test championship (WTC). ICC has also organized ODI (50 OVER MATCH) championship the world cup and a championship for the shortest cricket format till that T20 WORLD CUP. Now we shall discuss all these different cricket tournaments.

(1) ICC Cricket World Cup: The first edition of WCW was played in June 1975 and it is organized in England. This is a 0ne Day International (ODI) tournament. The WCW is played after four years after every tournament. In this tournament, the top ten tanas in ODI countries ranking get qualified to play this tournament. All the team management keep an Ege on every player’s performance for the strongest world cup team of their country. The world cup winner gets the prize money of $4,000,000 the runner-ups to get $2,000,000 and the losing semi-finalists get $800,000 each. The most successful team in world cups in Australia that is 5 times.

(2) ICC T20 World Cup: The first edition of the T20 World Cup was played in September 2007, and it is organized in South Africa. The first winner of the inaugural T20 World Cup was India beating Pakistan. This is the shortest cricket tournament till now. Twelve teams take part in the tournament and ten are the test-playing nations. The T20 World Cup-winning team gets the prize money of $1,600,000 and the runner-ups get $800,000. The most successful team of the T20 World Cup is West Indies that is 2 times.

(3) ICC World Test Championship: The first edition of the World Test Championship is a league competition for Test cricket for two years. It is started on 1ST August 2019 the final match was between India and New Zealand and was organized at Lords in England in June 2021. This tournament was started so that each cricket format gets its pinnacle championship and champion. There are 9 teams in this tournament and the format is league and final. The WTC final winner gets the prize money of $1,600,000 as well as a Test Mace and runner-ups get $800,000. The most successful team in New Zealand is one time the inaugural championship.
