New Year or the first month of the Hindu calendar usually falls between March and April, which is known as the month of Chaitra.  The first day of Chaitra Navratri (the nine-day-long festival) marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year. The Hindu new year is known by different names in different parts of the country. In Punjab, it is known as Baisakhi, Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra, Ugadi in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, and Navreh in Jammu. Likewise, Muslim New Year falls on the first day of the month of Muharram. The fact of the matter is that New Year that falls on first January is universally celebrated despite different religions having their new year.

New Year Celebration, Celebrate New Year with Family

New Year’s celebration takes place all over the world with great fun and enthusiasm.  Earlier, New Year was celebrated on 1st March as a Roman calendar contained only 10 months. However, in the Gregorian calendar, there are 12 months, and the new year is celebrated on the first day of the first month of the year that is January.

Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December, and after that people eagerly wait for the night of 31st December. As the clock chimes 12, people across the globe welcome the new year with great enthusiasm and joy. It is the time people take a moment to reflect over the year gone by, recollecting all the good and bad memories as they welcome the new year.  People have big celebrations on New Year’s Eve, as they spend this day with their friends and families. Festivity is in the air as the new year celebration goes underway with great passion.

New Year’s Eve (the night of 31st December) is a time for people to wait for a brand-new year with a tremendous amount of joy, celebration, and festivities. It is important to remember that different cultures across the world have their unique ways of ushering in the new year. People as per their country, culture, and tradition celebrate the holiday with parties, family get-togethers, or even in a more religious way.  And speaking about India, Indians love to celebrate the new year with friends and family, exchanging gifts and indulging in fun and festivities, making this fun holiday one of the most unforgettable ones of all the holidays and festivals.

The new year is believed to bring with it hopes of the future for the people, and this is the reason why it is one of the most anticipated events for people belonging to different countries, cultures, and religions. The new year is an occasion to celebrate as it promises a new and fresh beginning where people are encouraged to leave all the bad, sorrowful, and negative experiences behind. It is the time of the year when people pause to reflect upon their lives and make plans for the future. We spend New year with our friends, acquaintances, and family, and this is of the reasons that everyone’s mind is flushed with a wave of positivity and cheerfulness.

It is the time of the year when people make new resolutions as to how they are going to lead their lives, and what changes they will bring about in their habits and routine.  People hope of replacing all the bad experiences with a promising new beginning.  It is a wonderful opportunity for us to start life afresh by giving up our bad habits.

Another way of celebrating New Year with family is to visit holy places to worship and pray to God for a trouble-free, cheerful, and blissful year. Everyone prays and hopes that the brand New Year will bring with it glad tidings of peace and happiness for the entire mankind.

This is the day when the fun simply does not tend to stop. In many large cities of the world, there are large gatherings organized in public squares. Large boisterous crowds indulge in non-stop fun dancing to loud music. There are huge fireworks at night that are a sight to behold. People let go of their tension and sorrows, as they enjoy every moment with full passion. Everyone shares this joyous occasion with family and friends, as they welcome the New Year with love, warmth, partying, and dancing.
