ICC RANKINGS (Men - Tests)

ICC provides rankings to all the players on the basis of their overall performance in a particular position like there are different rankings for each format, whether it is test or T20 or ODI, and the ranking is also different for batsmen, bowlers, and all-rounders. Today in this article you are going to come across the top 4 batsmen in this world who are the best in test matches.

1. Steve Smith (Australia)

Three consecutive ashes series. He has amazed 1251 runs across 10 ashes test innings which is the most for any player across 10 ashes test innings, going past Sir Don Bradman who scored 1236 in 10 test innings.

2. Marnus Labuschagne (Australia)

Labuschagne became only the fifth player to make over 800 runs in a five-Test Australian season, joining the likes of Don Bradman, Neil Harvey, and Wally Hammond. He was dismissed for 215 when he tried to aerially flick legspinner, Todd Astle, in the hunt for quick runs, halting his total to 837 runs, behind only Hammond’s 1928/99 tally of 905 for most runs scored in a five-Test season.


3. Kane Williamson (New Zealand)

The best batsman in the current squad of new Zealand, Kane Williamson is the 4th batsman in the rankings of 2020 tests. On 2 March 2019, during the test series against Bangladesh, Williamson scored 200 not out where New Zealand posted their highest ever total of 715 in a test inning, he also became the fastest New Zealand player to score 6,000 runs in test cricket.


4. Babar Azam (Pakistan)

The heart of Pakistan cricket and the batsman who tops the T20i list comes 5th in the list of ICC's Test rankings. In six Tests last year, Babar scored 616 runs at 68.44  including three centuries and as many fifties while in 20 ODIs, he totaled 1,092 runs at 60.66. It included three hundred and six half-centuries.
