Mithali Raj: Career So Far

Mithali Dorai Raj is an Indian women's cricketer and the test and ODI captain of the women's international team. She the right-handed opening batswoman. She was born on 3rd December 1982 in a Tamil family in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Her father's name is Mr. Dorai Raj who was an airman in the Indian Air force. She started to play cricket at the age of 10. She completed her higher secondary education at Kasturba Gandhi Junior College for women. She made her record as a leading run-scorer in the field of cricket in women's international cricket for India. She is the only female cricketer to have scored more than 7000 runs in women's one-day international (ODI) matches.

At the age of 17 on 26 June 1999, she made an international one-day international debut and in her first match, she scored her first international one-day century against Ireland and scored 114 runs without being dismissed. The Latest made for international test debut on 14th January 2002 against England. She made her T20 International debut on 5th August 2006 against England. In 2005 she was promoted to captain of the Indian team. In 2019 Shiv became the first women's cricketer to reach the milestone of 20 years in international competition. Many national and international owners have been awarded her. She was honored with the Arjuna award in 2003. In 2015 she was honored with the Padma Shri award. In 2017 she was honored with Wisdom leading women's cricketer in the world award. Her fabulous career hasn't ended yet. There are many more achievements that are yet to come by her.
