M.S. Dhoni: The Legend

Mahendra Singh Dhoni commonly known as M.S Dhoni or captain cool is the heart of all cricket fans, of the entire nation. Born in Ranchi on 7th July 1981 he chased his dreams through a lot of struggle and today he has touched the peak of success. He is a right-handed batsman and a wicket-keeper in the Indian cricket team. His success is an inspiring story for the youth of today. He has won various awards and honors counting up the ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2008 and 2009 (the first Indian player to achieve this), the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2007, the Padma Shri, and India's fourth-highest civilian honor, in 2009. He started playing cricket matches since a small age (17 years) and then finally made his debut in the international matches in 2004 against Bangladesh. Dhoni is known for his tremendous and outstanding performance. Today also people are pumped up just to watch him play. He served as the captain of the Indian cricket team from the year 2007 to 2014. Under his captaincy, India won the 2011 world cup. He is one of the Indian cricketers to win the most honorable rank that is Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army unit of the Parachute Regiment. Recently the nation was saddened up when Dhoni finally announced his retirement on 15th August 2020 at the age of 39. The people of our country had been into cricket just to watch him many of times. However, this day had to come someday. Dhoni announced this news on various social media platforms by sharing a journey of his cricket life. The legend has also a film made on him M.S DHONI: The Untold Story counting his life struggles and various moments. The movie got a tremendous and outstanding response from the audience’s side after having a look at how much hard work it takes to be there.

In conclusion, we can just say that the nation will miss Mahi for his performance in cricket. His hard work really paid off!!!
