What Inspire You?

Some might say music, some might say parents, but the thing that inspires me is the various problems we have around us. Problems in society as a whole inspired me to do something. In my opinion, the whole world is a big prison, whose boundaries are invisible. These boundaries are the problems I mentioned earlier – women still don’t have any rights in many parts of the world, minorities (and in India, caste-based) still get discriminated against. Still somewhere in many parts of the world, someone has to sleep with their tummy not full. Somewhere someone is a victim of rape. These problems make the world a prison, whose boundaries are invisible. The recent takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban and the subsequent images, horrifying pictures of people trying to flee their motherland, just supports this statement. These things inspire me- they motivate me to do something.

In my country only, many problems exist- caste/religion-based discrimination, the problem of rape, poverty still haunts my lovely country. I just can’t see this disparity in India, that some of the people hold this country’s resources. Some people sit on a throne made up of the poor people’s bones and flesh. This inspires me to do something for my people. They give me that necessary kick and make me remind me that I don’t have to stop unless I do something to solve these problems. There’s still a long way to go through. I’ll have many obstacles in my way, and I will try my best to conquer them. And I might be over-ambitious, but I think I don’t have an impossible dream. One day it surely will be fulfilled. Rest time will tell.
