Anvi Hinge: Childlike Face, Mind of a Chess Prodigy

Eight-year-old Anvi Hinge was the star of the 2025 Western Asian Youth Chess Championships in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. In the Under-8 Girls division, Anvi excelled and contributed to India's victory. She contributed significantly to India's 31 medals.

She is regarded as one of India's most promising young chess players by members of the chess community. In addition to two gold medals in the team classical and team rapid events, Anvi won four silver medals in the individual classical, rapid, blitz, and team blitz competitions. It is amazing how disciplined and strategic Anvi's mind is at such a young age. Encouraged by her parents, who saw her passion for the game, Anvi started playing chess at the age of four. Through meticulous practice sessions, tactical game analyses, and participation in multiple national and international tournaments, she has refined her skills under the knowledgeable guidance of FIDE Instructor Pratik Mulay.

Anvi had previously made a mark at the 12th National School Chess Championship in 2024, finishing second runner-up in the Under-7 Girls category. Her current FIDE ratings of 1474 in standard, 1620 in quick, and 1531 in blitz indicate her versatility and developing skill in the game. The unwavering love and support from her parents, the community that nurtures her talent, and the rigorous practice sessions that require a great deal of discipline and a composed and strategic mind are more important than medals. It's amazing to see all of this in a young girl of this generation. Many youngsters, both younger and older, are inspired by Anvi, who is currently a youth sensation. Her triumph demonstrates not just her accomplishments but also her passion for the game, her commitment, and the gameplay.

This further supports the idea that young minds are where revolutions begin, as it increases their chances of success; we must make sure that young talents are nurtured in a positive environment. Success is ensured by a supportive family and a caring atmosphere that fosters youth with talent and a driven mind. This young child from the Pune district will undoubtedly keep inspiring young people and making India proud. After Gukesh, the youngest world champion, she appears to be next in line. After all, being successful at a very young age keeps them motivated to achieve more in the future. After all, youth is the time to explore life and talents!
