World Cup 2011 Last Fixing Allegations

Sri Lanka police addressed the previous commander Aravinda de Silva on 30th June 2020 over the ongoing charges made by previous Sri Lanka sports serve Mahindananda Aluthgamage asserting that Sri Lanka 'sold' the World Cup 2011 last to guarantee a triumph for India, news office PTI announced. The report has come a day after news office AFP had revealed that Sri Lanka police has opened a test into the charges. De Silva, who was the administrator of selectors for the Sri Lanka group during the 2011 World Cup last, was addressed by the police for more than six hours, the report included.
Aluthgamage has affirmed that his nation "offered" the game to India, a case that was disparaged by previous chiefs Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene who requested proof from him. The charges were made on June 18, yet the previous games serve later backtracked, saying it was only his doubt.
An extraordinary police examination unit recorded Aluthgamage's announcement a week ago. De Silva, who was the man of the match in the 1996 World Cup last which Sri Lanka won, was brought by the police on Tuesday to record his announcement.
Police sources said that Upul Tharanga, the left-gave opener who played 2011 last at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, would be tested straight away.
De Silva, in a section on The Sunday Times recently had discredited the claims, and asked SLC, BCCI, and the ICC to examine the issue to get out any questions regarding the matter. "We can't let individuals escape constantly with lies. I demand everybody, ICC, BCCI, and SLC to explore this right away.”
