About this webinar

Plot Development & Narration In Drama

Plot development and narration in drama are crucially essential. For example, if we take a look at a novel, that plot means ensuring that your novel contains what makes stories enjoyable to read; action and events, change, wonder and surprise. A plot gives a storey character development, suspense, energy, and emotional release. It allows an author to develop themes and, most importantly, a conflict that makes a storey emotionally engaging; everybody knows how hard it is to stop watching a movie before the conflict is resolved.

In the same manner, what is narrating? Narration is adding a spoken commentary for the audience about the action onstage. A narrator is like a storyteller informing the audience about the plot. Narration is useful in making a storey more understandable for the audience. It also makes the drama stylized. Narration is a technique whereby one or more performers speak directly to the audience to tell a story, give information or comment on the action of the scene or the motivations of characters.
