Different Type Of Dribbling In “Basketball”

Basketball is a team sport which is played between the two teams; each team has 5 players in it who try to shoot the ball into the hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground. The game is played in rectangular floor called the Court.

Basketball players only have two options with themself is to move the ball from one teammate to another teammate or either passing by dribbling. 

Different Types of Dribbling in Basketball

  1. Low Dribble: Low Dribble just means, when you dribble low nearest to the ground. This can effectively ensure the ball from guards.

This entails to extend his hand so as to limit the space opponent can penetrate.

        2 Speed Dribble: In this type of Dribble when you have open court, you have to take advantages of time while keeping good control with the ball and your body. You typically need to use the speed dribble to achieve to aim. It is commonly use when a player is guarded heavily. This gives him/ her good chance to make faster dribbling achieving some distance.

        3. Change of Pace Dribble: You go through this type of Dribble by slowing down your motion that may be conceived as strong. This would tell your opponent to think that you are stopping or pass the ball. Once you capture the moment of the opponent then you can explode with speed and drive through your opponent.

        4.  Crossover Drive: This dribble used to deflect the guarding player is the crossover dribble. It involve by one hand dribbling while push the ball in the in front. After which, offensive players can explode right through the opponent. To protect the ball, the dribble should be kept low as the ball passes from one hand to another.

        5 Hockey Dribble: To master this dribble involves head shoulder fake combination with an abrupt change of pace .This type of dribble commonly used to divert the defender from close guard.

       6 Reverse Dribble: When you strongly guarded, you can use reverse dribble to avoid the opponent from stealing the ball. The main drawback of this dribble is the tendency to lose the sight on the ball for some time.

      7  Half Reversed Dribble: This is close to the reverse dribbling basketball but in this player should make 90 Degree turn form his or her main position. Movement then must be very quick so as to prevent the ball from not being caught by a player of the opponent team.
