About UNESCO MGIEP
The Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP), in New Delhi, India was established with the support of the Government of India and is an integral part of UNESCO.
They believe in Transforming Education with Social and Emotional Learning for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
It is the first and only category 1 Research Institute in Asia Pacific and focuses on achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4.7 towards education to foster peaceful and sustainable societies.
The primary objective is to work towards UN Sustainable Development Goal 4.7, which aims to advance education in order to foster peaceful and sustainable societies worldwide. This will be accomplished through the creation of initiatives and resources that encourage social and emotional learning, introduce innovative digital teaching methods, and empower young people.

Climate Change: Understand, Reflect, Empathize and Act.
This course is designed for learners of 13 years and above and takes them through various aspects of climate change. It not only introduces them to the key concepts of climate science and the global policy discourse but also guides them through some simulations, games, and interactive activities to help build key social and emotional competencies. The course is the result of a collaboration between UNESCO MGIEP and Dr. Maria Ojala, PhD, Associate Professor (docent), School of Law, Psychology, and Social Work-Örebro University.

Biodiversity & Human Well Being.
A highly interactive online certificate course that enables learners to acquire critical perspectives on biodiversity and human wellbeing as well as gain the social and emotional competencies that can facilitate biodiversity conservation efforts.
Some concepts in focus are natural capital, inclusive wealth, ecosystem services, dragons of inaction. The course goes beyond promoting a purely rational and conceptual understanding of biodiversity and enables learners to relate with the global issue at a personal and emotional level thus inspiring action.
