Civil Engineering is a branch of professional engineering. It deals with planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and operating infrastructures along with protecting the public and environmental health as well as improving existing infrastructure. It prepares an individual for working not only in the construction industry but also in the business, management and financial sectors. Civil Engineering courses can be pursued both at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
Civil Engineers work both indoors and outdoors. They have a moderate level of social contact. They spend their major time to analyze data and to plan designs. The number of hours would be usually more than 40 hours per week.
