We are now at an age and time when the world is a global city and we are just a few seconds away from each other virtually even though we might be physically thousands of miles away. As science and technology have evolved, so has our lifestyle. Since the time the first internet connections were laid in the late 1950's, our world has undergone a sea change in every aspect. With the power of web and our smart phones we can now connect with anyone, anytime and from anywhere across the globe. 

Today businesses are performed across the globe through computers, smart phones and internet has made it possible. Information technology has made Internet business, socializing and education very easy and convenient and also has opened many new avenues. It is not just business but the internet has changed the way we entertain ourselves or connect with people. The Social media or the social networking sites have gained immense popularity among people across the world. It has brought people closer. Today we are more connected and now know more about people and their culture, their food habits, their lifestyle.
When it comes to education, internet is like a humongous library that students are able to explore. Whatever information they need is today available on the internet. Whatever one wants to know is at the finger tips. Students are also able to connect to other students from various parts of the country and the world to enhance and share their knowledge.
However, there is also a flipside to this. Most often and this is not just with students but young and grown-ups all have been falling prey to the downside of internet which is getting addicted to social media, online games so on a so forth. It is one major reason of distraction. While working g on the computer it is very easy to get distracted and end up spending more time on irrelevant matters than the task on hand. Students often ignore their tasks till at the far end they find themselves unable to cope with the piled up work and end getting stressed and frustrated. Not just pending work, but readily available information is also making us use our brains less and reduce thoughtfulness behavior. The need of the hour is to use the internet judiciously so that it enhances our life and not make us its slave.
