By 2030, one large multidisciplinary college in every district and all educational institutions will become multidisciplinary institutes. The aim is to extend the Gross Enrolment Ratio in education, including vocational training, from 26.3% (2018) to 50% by 2035. Music, arts and literature to be taught all together in colleges: Departments in Languages, Literature, Music, Philosophy, Indology, Art, Dance, Theatre, Education, Mathematics, Statistics, Pure and Applied Sciences, Sociology, Economics, Sports, Translation, and Interpretation, etc. are going to be introduced altogether at education institutions. M.Phil to be discontinued consistent with the NEP 2020. The small print regarding an equivalent is going to be released soon.
Sanksrit is going to be mainstreamed:
It’s time that Sanskrit is going to be mainstreamed with a robust offering in schools, and three language formulas are going to be adopted in education.
Vocational Skills to be Taught:
Every student is going to be taught a vocational skill of his/ her choice by the time they complete their schooling. Students also will be taught coding from Class VI.
No Rigid Separation Between Arts and Science Curriculum:
There’ll not be a huge difference between the curriculum of these two streams, and each one subjects like Music are getting to be taught.
Internships are getting to be Included in Class VI:
From 6th grade, candidates will get to do internships of 10 days with local trades or crafts.
IITs to follow the Holistic approach:
IITs will get to follow a more holistic approach and multidisciplinary education with more arts and humanities as per the New Education Policy
Academic Bank of Credit to be established:
A tutorial Bank of Credit (ABC) is going to be found out to digitally store the tutorial credits earned. The 4-year course can also cause a degree ‘with Research’ if the scholar completes rigorous scientific research within the respective time
Importance to Practical Assignments, Skill Development:
The New Education Policy emphasizes practical knowledge and skill development which can begin from class 6th.
Single Common entrance exam for all Colleges:
According to the NEP 2020, there will be one common entrance exam for admission to all or any education institutes, which NTA will hold. The doorway exam is going to be optional and not mandatory.
New System of Education:
The 10+2 system is going to be divided into 5+3+3+4 format. The New Education Policy has changed the varsity education system to 5+3+3+4 format. This suggests the primary five years of the varsity will comprise the inspiration stage, including three years of pre-primary school and sophistication es one and class 2. Subsequent three years are getting to be divided into a preparatory stage (classes 3 to 5), three years of middle stage (classes 6 to 8), and 4 years of secondary stage (classes 9 to 12). Every institution will have a world Students Office to host foreign students. Colleges are getting to be promoted to provide premium education at affordable costs.
Foreign Colleges Can found out Colleges in India:
Top 100 Foreign Colleges will found out their campuses in India as per NEP. They’re going to tend special dispensation and regulations to line up the campuses.
Expenditure on Education:
The expenditure on education is going to be changed to six percent of the entire GDP, as against earlier, which was 4 percent of the GDP. Both states, also as Central Government, are going to be working together on the expenditure.
