A Day Of Ups And Downs

The fifteenth day of RBCL started with an overcast sky and pleasant weather. All the teams were busy practising before the matches started, as none of the teams seemed ready to give an easy time to their competitor.
The first match was between St.Thomas, Dwarka and I.T.L., Dwarka in the Senior Boys’ Category. The game was a cake walk for I.T.L, Dwarka as they won the match by 18 points.
The second match was between Mater Dei,India Gate and St.Marks ,Mehtabagh in the Senior Girls’ Category. Both the teams played very enthusiastically, the score was almost equal but in the end Mater Dei, India Gate, won the match by 9 points qualifying for the next round.
The third match between the Junior Girls of Step by Step, Noida and Amity International, Noida. The match was easy for Step by Step, Noida as they won by 28 points.
The fourth match for the day was between D.P.S, R.K.Puram and Montfort, Ashok Vihar in the Junior Girls’ Category. It was a tough match, but Montfort, Ashok Vihar, won by a tiny margin of “1” point. The Coach with the girls of D.P.S, R.K.Puram, said “We were playing well, and I thought we were going to win this match but because of one player of our team we lost 4 baskets”
The fifth match was between Montfort, AshokVihar and Bal Bharti, Pitampura in the Junior Boys’ Category. This match was worth watching. The teams were close behind each other as they continuously scored baskets one after the other. Finally, Montfort won by 18 points.
In the Senior Boys’ Category, the boys of Oxford School gave a tough fight to the team from Montfort, Ashok Vihar. But Montfort School, Ashok Vihar seems to be invincible one as they recorded yet another victory. Senior Boys of Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan defeated New Green Field School, Saket.
The thriller of the day was the gripping Semi- Final game between the Junior Boys of the Host School, Ramjas School, R.K.Puram and G.D.Goenka, Vasant Kunj. The boys of Ramjas School, R.K.Puram put up a tremendous fight against an equally charged opposition. Till the very end, the audience were on the edge of their seats. The host team lost by 9 points to their opponent.
Modern School, Barakhamba Road defeated the Junior Boys’ Teams from Mann School, Holambi Kalan.
However, towards the latter half of the day rain played a spoil sport. Two matches scheduled for the day had to be forfeited due unforeseen delay caused by heavy rains. These matches were
1. Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri V/S Modern School, Barakhamba Road. (Senior Girls)
2. New Green Field School, Saket V/S Montfort School, Ashok Vihar. ( Senior Girls)
