Causes of Sleep Difficulties

As we all know, having a good sleep of at least 7- 8 hours is very important for everyone. Good sleep brings with it an active body and a smart mind. But there are some people who get difficulty in sleeping due to some reasons. Sleeping difficulty is when it is troublesome getting asleep at night or the person may wake up several times throughout the night.

There are many factors that contribute to sleeping difficulties. It includes lifestyle, sleeping habits, and medical conditions. Causes may vary from age to age. Most people experience sleeping difficulties at some points in their lives.

Causes of sleeplessness may include too much stimulation before bedtime like watching TV, playing video games, etc. Drinking too much coffee, noise disturbances, uncomfortable bedroom also causes difficulty in sleeping. Some people likely children watch horror movies before going to bed and are unable to sleep because of fear.

Also, some people develop negative thoughts in their minds and cannot sleep. Some people have to wake up many times due to frequent urine problem and that disturbs their sleep. For many people, stress, worries, depression, anxiety, workloads also affects their sleep.

Physical pain, jet legs, cold, cough, chronic illness are some medical causes of sleeping difficulties. There are some sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, insomnia, and delayed sleep phase disorder. One should see a doctor if he /she suffers from ongoing sleep disorders. Sleep difficulties affect the activities of one's life, therefore one should take proper action and necessary treatment.
