CBSE Class 10th Maths Exam Will Now Have Two Test Paper Options
Editorials News | Sep-30-2018
Students who would be appearing for Class 10th Board Exams for Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will have the option to choose from a standard-level paper or existing-level mathematics question paper. The choice will be made on the decision when the forms for the exam will be filled up in late 2018. On 31st of May 2018, it was reported that CBSE was considering to release two sets of question papers for kids. Syllabus of both the papers would be same. The difference between the two papers would be that children would be examined at two different levels - one would be a simpler question paper and other would be to pursue Maths for higher studies.
Official further added that they could start this as a pilot project from March 2019. If everything goes right, the decision could be extended for class 12 board exams too. CBSE has formed a 15-member committee with mathematics experts from schools and universities along with National Council of Educational Research and Training.
The same syllabus would be tested at two different levels. The higher level paper would have applied mathematics and higher order thinking skills. A number of school boards overseas follow this practice like Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education.
