CBSE Issues Guidelines For School Change In Classes 10 and 12

Central Board of Secondary Education, at the beginning of the 2019-20 academic session, CBSE published a circular detailing the guidelines for school change in classes 10 and 12. The board as a general rule warned students against the change. Although in certain cases it is inevitable to change schools, the board has introduced stricter guidelines for school change for reasons such as better education.

The board notes that many students change schools for several reasons. While the board recognizes that changes in family and distance are reasons for change, there are reasons such as better education, etc. The board advises all students that, if they wish, they must change their schools in classes 9 and 11 instead of classes 10 and 12. The basic reason behind the suggestion is that the board initiates the registration process for the board exams of classes 9 and 11, respectively. As such, a change of school in class 10 and 12 increases the paperwork and also the chances of error due to the transfer.

In the circular dated April 5, 2019, the board has presented the list of documents that parents and schools would have to provide for direct admissions in classes 10 and 12. Transfer cases, the displacement of the family, medical reasons, etc. they require a standard documents such as a copy of the parents' transfer orders, new address proof, etc. For students who plan to change to 'better education', not only would parents be required to provide the required documents, schools (both admitting and dropping out of school) should also attach records of the latest CBSE Board results. 5 years. Schools should also provide the qualifications and teaching experience to provide a comparative test of the stipulation.

Teachers and schools have stressed that more stringent guidelines may be required. Many schools refuse to promote students due to the board exam in classes 10 and 12. As a result, many students migrate to other schools. The stricter guidelines, in turn, would stop such transfers that tend to interrupt the process. Schools are now more varied than accepting direct admissions in the classes. Parents are encouraged to read the CBSE Circular on School Change provided here to understand the new guidelines. The last date to request the change and direct admissions in classes 10 and 12 is July 15, 2019.
