Delhi Government To Launch Global SEE Learning Program in India Under ‘Happiness Curriculum’

Following the National launch of Happiness Curriculum and Pilot Project, the Government of Delhi is has launched the Global SEE Learning Project in India to deepen the relations internationally and enrich the education in India. Being launched in Delhi, the event was three day and is started on 4th April and ended by 6th April, 2019.
About the Programme
Called as SEE (Social, Emotional and Ethical) Learning, it promotes the cultivation of ethics and compassion in the classroom. The aim of SEE curriculum is to bring the ‘secular ethics’ in the classroom for the students of Kindergarten to class 12th. Under this program, the kids will be given attention during training and will share positive endeavor through cultivation of compassion for self as well as others, system thinking and ethical discernment, and resilience skills based on trauma-informed care.
The Co-Director of Emory Collaborative for Contemplative studies, Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi, stated that due to the growing awareness of the effects of stress on young people, there is a need to incorporate emotional, social, and ethical learning into standard K-12 academic curricula in order to address the holistic needs of a child.
Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi also added that according to the scientific research, the ethical development, alongside emotional and social learning contributes to the physical, psychological and social well-being of a student and it helps them to succeed not just academically, but in life.

Global Partnership
One of the well-known university amongst Atlanta’s prominent Universities,The Emory University, has partnered up with Vana Foundation of India and The Dalai Lama Trust to launch a self-initiated program in the Indian schools’ premises. Developed in 2015 in the indoor campus of the University, the program has a big reach already, reaching globally in North and South America, Europe, and East Asia.
Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi mentioned that the Education Minister of Delhi and Deputy CM, Manish Sisodia, had gone through the SEE Learning Curriculum and they were keen to adopt some of the activities practiced in the program in order to enrich their existing (Happiness) Curriculum.
