Diamond Jubilee of CISCE was Celebrated in Kolkata

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is a privately held national-level board of school education in India that conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education and the Indian School Certificate examinations for Class X and Class XII respectively. It is known to be an upgraded level than CBSE as the schools affiliated have a good conduct and are never being questioned in past due to its disciplined monitoring committee that keeps a good eye to watch the functioning. More than 700 principals and 1500 teachers from ICSE schools from across the country marked their attendance in the city on Friday to attend the diamond jubilee function of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.
It was inaugurated by the former president Pranab Mukherjee as the chief guest and education minister Partha Chatterjee as the distinguished guest of the function which was held in Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Town, Kolkota. On this auspicious occasion the former president mentioned in his speech that the plurality of India at a time when politics of polarization is threatening to rear its head and take control. Further he emphasized in the diversity of education and said that “Diversity need not affect our united action. Let us celebrate diversity, let us enjoy it, let us nurse it and let us nourish it, whereas managers, teachers, principals, founders and educational administrators to partake of this march which they began long ago so as to recognize each individual as a creation of God”. He cited the cultures, customs, practices that are followed it India and how does it need Evolution so as to have a bright young generation as to flourish the nation at international level and for the self-development. In the feedback given by the heads of the schools across the nation some of the school heads present in the function expressed that they felt it was important to recognize diversity and help students realize its importance. They stressed schools should be free of prejudice and differences created by language, caste, color or creed. The principal of The Heritage School said in her remark that Diversity must be embraced in every aspect. There are people coming from diverse backgrounds, abilities and schools have to accommodate and embrace all of them without discriminating them on any ground whatsoever as every student has an ability and it is just for the school to nourish it and get the best out of it. The function included a cultural programme organized as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, in association with The Telegraph Young Metro
