Delhi University is known for the traditional undergraduate courses, but the fad lately has shifted to vocational training as the students these days want to make their hobbies aa their career options, for which they are looking out for vocational courses.
Inder Jeet Dagar, Principal, College of Vocational Studies, DU said “Vocational courses are specialized courses due to which they not only provide degrees but also provide practical knowledge, which leads to greater employability. Out of 76 colleges under DU, School of Vocational Studies is the only college that is offering seven vocational courses at undergraduate level. These courses have higher employment opportunities than the regular courses. Mr. Dagar said “The college has a placement cell equipped with multiple coordinators. Most of our students go for higher studies post bachelor’s but many get jobs with attractive salary packages after completing the undergraduate level”. The admission to these courses will be through Central merit-based DU admission process only. The merit is determined on the basis of one language and three best academic/elective subjects. These admissions are merit-based with high cut-offs, which is different for all the courses.
