"Happiness classes should be longer": Says Class 8th Student Of Delhi
Editorials News | Aug-08-2018
Delhi Government has recently introduced Happiness Curriculum from Nursery to Class 8. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia believes that these classes can be a solution to problems like terrorism, crime, corruption etc. This is what one kid, Ashutosh from South West Delhi has to say about these classes.
What do you do in your happiness class?
There is one period each day. Monday is about mindfulness. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are all about stories. Thursday and Friday, there are activities. Saturdays are for discussion and what I have learnt.
Does this class make you happy? There are no books and no homework. We just get to know each other. These classes should be a little longer.
Have you noticed a change after these classes? It's only been a week. But everyone who is in the class is happy and content. I have learnt nice things such as 'gratitude'. I say 'thank you' whenever someone helps me. Today, I learnt that 'Jo bhi karo man lagakar karo' which means whatever you do, you should do with all your interest. What else should schools do for happiness? The schools should include more more play time. We have a few facilities for sports ot games though. What other things make you happy or sad?
I love playing football and I am at my happiest then. I also love English class I have after school time. I love fighting with my sister. I also love eating mutton. I am sad when I study hard but score less but as I have learnt in the class that being sad will not increase my marks.
