The use and application of modern technologies in designing and building well-lit constructions have a variety of definitions and interpretations. Indeed, architects contend that such uses of technology depend on conditions, background, and the presumptions of the design and the location. The advent of new technologies into a region with a rich history, culture, and background in an area which has a rich background in art and architecture such as Iran can lead to a challenge between technology and architectural traditions of the region; one reason for the challenge between technology and the traditional architectural background is that the required infrastructure and the readiness for handling the concept of globalization do not exist.

Architecture has revolutionized and changed in the twenty-first century compared to the nineteenth century due to technology. Even though many factors have played major roles in the changing of architecture, technology has played the most important role in architectural change. This research paper will have an introduction where major terminologies that will be used throughout the paper will be defined. Smart and nano-technology have significant effects on contemporary buildings from a technical point of view. Modern technological innovations, smart materials, new construction technology, moveable ingredient, and remote control structures have led to many developments and numerous imitations. Early 20th-century modern architecture is a product of the Industrial Revolution. According to established historiography, it is not only inspired by avant-garde art but also draws on engineering and the “anonymous ethos” of modern mass society—it is architecture for the “machine age”.
