The Importance of Work-Life Balance

In these hectic and busy life schedules, work-life balance can seem like an impossible feat. With the millennial generation of workers projected to take up 75-80 percent of the workforce by 2025. Many leaders suggest that it's high time to redefine what 'work-life balance' looks like.
Experts say that the compounding stress from the never-ending workday is damaging. It could hurt one's relationships, health, and overall happiness.
Work-Life Balance differs from person-to-person, but her health and career experts share some common tips to help you find the balance that’s right for you.

  1.  Aim for Perfectionism: Try to develop perfectionist tendencies and habits from a young age as at that age it is easier to maintain a perfectionist attitude, but as you grow up your responsibilities and expectations will grow too. In this growing and fast world, if your habit is left unchecked, it could become destructive.
  2.  Take a break: It is advisable to take a short break for 15-20 minutes. Though with the advancement of technology, our work has become easier and therefore helped us in many ways. To maintain a proper balance between professional and personal life, it is suggested that one must take short breaks. In other words, unplug yourself and spend some quality time with oneself.
  3.  Exercise and Meditate: No matter how many projects or assignments you are working on but you must take out at least thirty minutes from your busy schedule and must exercise. Exercise is one of the vital needs of our body. One of the effective stress reducer and helps us in releasing endorphins and helps us in lifting our mood. Meditation, on the other hand, helps in relaxation and improves one's concentration power.
  4. Remove time-wasting and toxic people: You must set your goals, priorities, and firm boundaries so that no one could try to enter into your personal space and must remove people who are neither 'Good to you' nor ' Good for you' and devote quality time to these high-priority people and activities. From that moment, you'll be more clear about what needs to be trimmed from the schedule. Hence, your life path will become more clear.
  5. Change the structure of your life: Change your perspective on life. Spend more time with positive and inspiring people. Take a steering wheel or birds-eye view of your life and question yourself: What changes could make life easier?

Make a list of all the activities you specialize in and value most and then focus on it.
