The Most Popular Doctor in the World: Mikhail Varshavski

Mikhail Varshavski who is commonly known as Doctor Mike is a celebrity personality and philanthropist. He is an osteopathic doctor (D.O.) who is based in New York City.

Coming to his fan following, he is the most followed doctor on social media with a combined following of over 3.5 million. Mikhail is a family medicine doctor focusing on preventive and osteopathic medicine at Overlook Medical Center. 2015 was the great year for doctor as he gained a lot of media attention. Buzzfeed published an article about him in which they praised about his good looks. He was featured in a variety of magazines and newspapers like Cosmopolitan, DailyMail, New York Magazine and Time. Doctor’s Instagram account reached to about one million followers by October 2015. Dr. Mike continued to have popularity growth as a leading voice for the medical community that appeared on major television programs such as GoodMorning America, Today Show, The Doctors, Rachel Ray Show, Mornings with Maria, Inside Edition and Good Day. He speaks on a range of complex and controversial medical topics.

He was born approximately in 1989. in Russia, where his father was a physician and his mother was a mathematics professor. When he was six, he and his family migrated to Brooklyn. In Brooklyn, his mother had to work down to the sweeping floors for minimum wage, while his father attended medical school for the second time.

Varshavski was given the nickname "Doctor Mike" during his high school by friends who came to him for sports-related injuries knowing  that is father was a physician. He is  graduated from, New York Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in life sciences and ,  as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine via an accelerated 7-year combined track. During his first year of medical school, his mother died of leukemia.

 He is not only a social buss but he is a really carm and pleasing person by heat. In an interview when it was asked from hi that what he loves about being a doctor then he replied that; ‘Instead of answering to clients or shareholders, I’m accountable to the human beings who entrust me with their health - that’s something truly special.’

He is inspired from his father in the interview he said - ‘Watching my father to come to a new country, learn the language, complete medical school and residency, open a successful private practice and maintain a healthy family life had a profound impact on me’. His accomplishments inspire me to set even higher goals for myself.

Talking about his lifestyle and scheduler he says that- ‘I wake up at 8 a.m. on a beautiful 75-degree day, walk my Siberian Husky, Roxy, and spend the morning meeting with patients. Then, I head to my studio to film a segment debunking the latest health fad, followed by a solid workout on the basketball or tennis court. Finally, I end the day hanging out with my closest loved ones’. He is a good fan of dogs and mostly loves to spend time with his patients most.
