Euro’s Trophy: History

European Championship, formally UEFA European Championship, also called Euro, in football, a four-year match between the member states of the European Football Association (UEFA). In the World Football Championship, the European Championship ranks second in the World Championship.

The first and last European Championship (the European Cup of Nations at the time) was held in 1960 after several years of preliminary competition among 17 football clubs across the country. The last European Championship in 1960 consisted of 4 teams. It expands to 8 groups. 16 teams in 1980 and 1996. At present, the qualification for the European Championship starts several years earlier than the previous one, because all UEFA participants are competing with 16 teams (the ranking is no longer by the United States or the host country), the latter is automatically ranked).

Henri Delaunay's trophy is awarded to the European Championship champion, named after UEFA Secretary-General Henri Delaunay. He conceived the concept of the European Championship but died 5 years before the primary election. Event 1960. His son Pierre was responsible for making the trophy. [70] Starting from the main event, the winning team will serve for 4 years until the next event. The front of this trophy has the words "Coupe Europe", "Coupe Henri Delaunay" and "Championed d'Europe", and the return is a juggling boy.

In the 2008 competition, the Henri Delaunay trophy became larger because the old trophy was obscured by various UEFA trophies and the new European Club Cup. He now weighs 8 kg (18 lbs), is 60 cm (24 inches) tall, weighs 2 kg (4 lbs and 4 lbs), and is 18 cm (7.1 inches) longer than the old one. The base is changed to delete. The new silver base of the trophy must be enlarged to stabilize it. The name of the victorious country they saw on the plaque on the base was engraved under the words "Coupe Henri Delaunay" under the trophy return [71], written in English, in sharp contrast to his predecessor’s French. The victory of the United States in 1972 and 1980, West Germany, is referred to as "Germany" for short. [Quote needed] Since 2016, the juggling boy has been rolling when returning the trophy.

The athletes and coaches of the championship team and the runner-up team won gold and silver medals respectively. Every organization that participated in the last event will receive a plaque. The team that emerges from the semi-finals every time, except for every finalist, although it is possible. Since there was no tie-break in the third division, UEFA decided to reward the final losers in the semi-finals (Turkey and Russia) with bronze medals in the 2008 version [72], as did the 2008 version. In 2012, Germany and Portugal won bronze medals. [73] However, UEFA found that in the 2016 version, the eliminated semi-finalists failed to win medals. Before this, the bronze medal was awarded to the winner of 1/3 of the regional tiebreaker, and the competition was last held in 1980.
