In today’s collegiate athletics one experiences immense pressure as a student athlete. Thus, the combination of a heavy academic program with arduous training schedules as a member of a sports team could be challenging. This is where academic advisors of the student-athletes come in. They are the invisible mentors, who assists the student-athletes to get the best of both worlds, that is, academic and sporting activities.

There are also student-athlete academic advisors who are independent and knowledgeable about the duality of work that the student-athletes are engaged with. The former is not only an academic advisor but rather a role model and a helper guiding the students- athletes through all the challenges of their college life. Their responsibilities include:

The advisors are responsible for fostering familiarity with a student-athlete and it helps in creating the guidelines for the particular student-athlete learning recognizing the athletic matters. This can be choosing courses that fall within their training time table so as not to deviate from the set course of training and graduation program.

Time management is very important in the life of a student athlete. Coaches explain also how to plan on a day-to-day and week basis with the exercises, study time, competitions and leisure time. This avoids cases of suffering burnout and guarantee that the student-athletes can excel in all aspects.

Support and Resources:
They help student-athletes get the resources that they require on the campus such as tutorial services, writing centers, and counseling services. They also help in the management of stress in relation to working hours that have a great impact on the health of any individual.
