"Individual Interests Catered by Student-Led Learning Plans"

The student learning plans initiated by students are transforming learning to enable learners to take full charge of their learning process through choosing specific areas of interest that will enable them to fulfill their goals. One of the advantages of using this approach is that it encourages independence, attraction to content, and personal subject comprehension. In student-controlled learning, students work together with teachers to develop attainable individual goals and select areas or projects of interest. This drives student engagement and makes them ownership of their assignment rather than being mere recipients of knowledge. For instance, a student who wishes to pursue environmental science will come up with a project in his area of study focusing on ecosystems, elements of biology, chemistry, and statistics. Most of such plans do not only address self-interest but also the improvement of skills such as time management, problem-solving, and self-assessment. Students are granted a chance to explore things that they are passionate about. Therefore, they will be able and willing to grasp concepts, post their knowledge, and remain enthusiasts in the field.
