Tipu Sultan was the ruler of Mysore. He is also known as the tiger of Mysore or Tipu Sahab. Along with the ruler of the kingdom, he was also a soldier and a poet. He ruled from 1782 to 1799. He was born in the year 1750, he was the eldest son of Sultan Hyder Ali of Mysore. He was born into a Muslim family.
It was said that his ancestors were from different places like Afghanistan, Persia Arabia, Uzbekistan, and Ferghana.

Tipu Sultan died on 4th May 1799 in the Anglo-Mysore war. The nizams of Hyderabad and the British East India Company defeated him. He was defeated while fighting for Seringapatam.

He was known as her- e - -e-Mysore because he fought prominently with the British to stay away from the South. He was one of the few rulers who challenged the Britishers. He also won the first two Anglo-British wars.

He got the rulership from his father, Tipu knew the British army would take over one day. To keep them away Mysore missiles and rockets were used.

This was also used to defeat the Britishers in the first Anglo War. Mysore missiles were iron rockets fitted with swords in them. These rockets can reach up to kilometers in the air. The missiles gained popularity because of their high coverage and destructive nature.

The Bangalore Fort was built in the 16th century by Kempe Gowda of the Vijaynagar empire. Later it was renovated and made up into a stone fort by the father of the Tipu Sultan. There was a time when the fort was bombed by the Britishers but was repaired by the Tipu Sultan.

However, the fort was later captured by the Britishers during the 3rd Anglo War.
Currently, the Delhi gate and remnants of bastions are the only remaining of his forts.

Tipu Sultan's sword is considered very special because it is made up of a hard and shaped edge metal that can rip out the opponent's armor. This sword was made of a special high-carbonated metal called wootz. It was produced all over South India by then. The king, Drama Raja passed down the famous sword to Nawab of Arcot but later forcefully it was taken by the Britishers and sent to London.

Later Vijay Mallya bought back the famous sword in 2004 for 1.5 Crore

His inscriptions were written on the handle of his sword “My victorious saber is lightning for the destruction of the unbelievers. Haidar, the Lord of the Faith, is victorious for my advantage.
