This type of reasoning typically follows a bottom-up approach, where specific observations or evidence are used to build a general theory or explanation. Inductive reasoning is often used in scientific research and investigation, where it is used to develop hypotheses and theories based on empirical evidence.

For example, in inductive reasoning, one might observe that all the swans they have seen are white. Based on this observation, one might infer that all swans are white, but this conclusion is not certain until further evidence is gathered.
