PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG): The New Gaming Trend

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is trending among the youth which is an online multi-player battle royale game. This game is developed and published by PUBG Corporation. This game is an inspiration of the mods that were formed by Brendan Greene using the film Battle Royale and later expanded it into a game under his creative direction. The game is about one hundred players who land onto one island and hunt for weapons while killing others and avoiding getting killed themselves. The safe area provided will decrease overtime and will leave players with tighter areas to survive. The last man standing will win the round.

Initially, the game was released for Microsoft in March 2017 as a beta version. Later, in December, 2017 when the full release took place, Microsoft also launched the game for Xbox One. A few months later, Android and iOS version were also released by Tencent Games in China.  PUBG received various favorable reviews from critics during its period of early access and final release. Reviewers found a lot of drawbacks and technical flaws in the game but Battlegrounds presented the gameplay in an absolutely new manner which was easily accessible by players of any skill level. This game has taken the world by storm by also being nominated for the category of game of the year and other several awards for 2017. PUBG is running small tournaments at lower level so that it turns out to be a popular eSport.
