All Work and No Play Makes Jack a Dull Boy

Education leads a child to a prosperous future. It is both the means as well as the road to a better life. The sole right of every human being, but, maybe we got so indulge in making a child’s education better that we completely forgot what else is necessary to make his future bright. Books are a man’s best friend, as we’ve always been taught but sports or extracurricular activities are necessary too.

We all know the proverb “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”, but when it comes to implying the same on our lives, we fail. Parents do not give freedom to their children to play and have fun. Most people underestimate the importance of playing sports. That’s crucial for children’s healthy psychological development and ability to thrive in life. Children are born with playfulness, curiosity, sociability, and deep desire to learn. We can’t let a load of studies rob that.

Some parents prefer their kids being a bookworm rather than being good at sports. It’s because they forced themselves to believe that what books can teach them, sports may not. Instead of telling the child to be a bookworm, tell him to balance both, his studies and extracurricular activities.

It is sad to set students into something which makes them unhappy, anxious, and bored. Education is important, but extracurricular activities are even more important. It expands a child’s mental and physical growth and charges them. The more you let them face the outer world, the smarter they become. Because it’s eventually the world they have to face and not physics problems.
