Complication Of EURO 2020

The EURO Cup is hosting a multi-team event for the first time in more than three countries.
The tournament is going to spread from Bilbao to Petersburg, Baku, and Dublin. There are a total of 24 teams out of which 6 teams are gonna have the tournament organized in their home ground. The countries are Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, and Denmark. If England manages to top the chart, they get to play the pre-quarterfinals and quarter-final in their home ground as well.

The main reason for organizing the tournament in the entire continent was not to burden any specific country in the pandemic situation.
The entire expense will be shared by UEFA. The classic case of debt can be seen in the 2012 tournament where Poland and Ukraine organized the tournament and were later in debt to provide better facilities for the tournament.

Why was the tournament not canceled?

Postponing the tournament has already caused a major loss. According to the AP, they have suffered a loss of 300 million euros, adding another 2 billion if the tournament wasn't organized now. The government has supplied 235 million euros to help 55 members associated with the UEFA to cope with the pandemic.
Many sponsors have also come up to help. They avoid the rebranding of the tournament. It wasn't changed to EURO 2021.
