Educational Value Of Sports
General News | Sep-08-2021
Sports are traditionally very under-rated in India and don’t gather much importance besides academic studies. But, it will be wrong to claim that sports have no contribution to achieving academic excellence. Factually academic learning and sports education complement each other. Sports have a very great educational value in our life.
A very famous English quote,” All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”, perfectly justifies the title of the article because if we focus on the theoretical knowledge without any exposure to practical aspect then our mind will be fed up which will be harmful to our physical as well as mental health.
Therefore, we must integrate ourselves into physical activity also. These sporting activities have an impact on not only our physical fitness but also on mental health by enhancing our personality teaching us the qualities like leadership, sharing, team spirit, obedience, discipline, tolerance and even more important is the determination to win and achieve victory.
Sports besides maintaining our body stamina also helps in improving academic areas like our ability of reasoning and vocational specialization. They help us in the all-around development of our bodies. Sports train students to face harsh and disheartening defeats with a smile and also to maintain humility even in victory.
Hence, sporting activities have great educational value as well as physical benefits. Sports helps in removing stress and it is the best way to maintain proper discipline which will help us in each step of our life including academic areas.
