Extinction Of Poetry And Poets

Extinction is the disappearance of creation—the loss of something that can never get replaced. We are talking about the extinction of plants and animals for a long time, but now it is time when we also need to give voice to literature that talks about the extinction of poetry and poets. Poetry is the extraordinary perception of the ordinary.” –someone has rightly said. Poetry is a form of literature that uses aesthetics and is the highest form of art. It has always been a way of expressing inner emotions, views, and experiences in a structured yet artistic way. Poetry provides a way to convey our feelings, emotions, messages to others in a hidden, creative way. It’s a way to pour our hearts out on a piece of paper. But it is slowly getting extinct.

The extinction of poems would lead to heavy hearts. It would close the path for people to express themselves, and words would remain submerged in the soul of many people. It is a platform to write what we are feeling but can’t say to others. Sometimes, when the door verbal talk gets closed, the poetic door opens up. The words that hide in us; find a path to express themselves. So they travel through the heart to the hand and then on a piece of paper. That piece of writing is read by many, and our soul gets satisfied. Because we finally conveyed what we wanted to tell the world, openly but yet in a hidden way. If poetry and the poets get extinct, the world would never be the same again as poetry is not just words. It’s not just a collage of alphabets put together; poetry is different and is unique. ‘Not every rhyming words are poetry, nor every poetry is rhyming.’ We assume a poem to be just a scrap of paper, just some words arranged impressively. But we don’t know that if poetry gets extinct, the burden on our hearts would be heavy again because we will lose a way to express ourselves once again. “The extinction of poetry and poets cannot afford, saving it should be our first preference.”
