Building immunity is a crucial thing in today’s generation. We are advised to eat foods rich in nutrients which will increase immunity and help keep us safe. Especially during winters, it is important to build immunity, not only because of the drop in temperature but in the changing weather many people tend to get sick. Here are some food items that will help boost our immunity:
Citrus rich fruits and veggies
Whenever people get sick, they take Vitamin C. That's because Vitamin C helps produce White- Blood cells which are a key to build our immune system. Almost all citrus foods are rich in Vitamin C, for example- lemon, orange, grapefruit etc.
Broccoli
Broccoli is supercharged with vitamins and minerals. Packed with vitamins A, C, and E, also as fibre and plenty of other antioxidants, broccoli is one amongst the healthiest vegetables you'll be able to put in your meal.
Garlic
Garlic has become an important ingredient in almost all cuisines. It adds a yummy taste to the food and it’s a must-have for your health. Early civilizations recognized its value in fighting infections. Garlic can even hamper hardening of the arteries, and there’s weak evidence that it helps lower sign. Garlic’s immunity comes from sulphur-containing compounds, such as allicin.
Spinach and other green leafy vegetables
Spinach is not only rich in Vitamin C but it is also filled with plenty of antioxidants and beta carotene which increases our immunity.
Dry-fruits like: Almonds
Almonds have many nutrients such as potassium, vitamin E and magnesium which also play an important role in boosting our immunity.
Cinnamon
Just have it with a glass of warm water to remain fit. Cinnamaldehyde, a compound present in cinnamon is additionally known to possess an anti-carcinogenic effect.
Cloves
Cloves are also rich in anti-oxidants and other ant-microbial properties, hence it is considered as super-food in fighting immune diseases.
