History of Archery

Archery is the art, practice, or skill of propelling arrows with the use of bows, from Latin arcus. History dates and invention of the archery both from paleolithic times approximately 71,000 years ago. Based on archaeological evidence of arrowheads and cave paintings they believe that men of prehistoric times utilize bows and arrows to hunt. Archery has been used for hunting and combat, while in modern times, its main use is that of a competitive sport and recreational activity. Archers require not only physical strength, but also mental fitness, and Archers develop their focus, flexibility, and attention skill. A person who participates in archery or does the archery is known as an "Archer" or a "Bowman" and one who is fond of or an expert at archery can be referred to as a "Toxophilite".

The two arrows and the boa were initially developed in those societies for hunting wild game. The archery bow would allow hunters to cover more distance or gap between them and their prey giving them more advantage over their prey. The food provided by archery both would intern sustain those societies during those times. Archaeological evidence also suggests that the archery bow has origin in other civilizations including Egypt, Africa, Asia, and parts of the Middle East from its humble beginning the archery bow has been at the heart of those who seed the great outdoors. At forefathers hunted wild game with the stick and string for survival this enriched into our blood the spirit that calls us into nature the spirit of the wild.
