Impact Of Cinema
General News | Sep-15-2021
Cinema is inspired by real-life and reel life inspires real life. Cinema and our lives are internally linked together, from stereotypes to notions presented in cinema are taken from real-life incidents and situations. On the other hand, the standards of cinema dictate the standard of normal living. Cinema in the 90s used to depict their social culture by presenting women as the softer gender whereas cinema in the current world tries to depict women as stronger leads since the rise of feminism.
Throughout the year's cinema has evolved greatly and has been an ice breaker for conversations. It has helped the imagination of many people to broaden and also brings social issues to highlights. In the 90s women only played roles of a housewife whereas the men were supposed to be macho and not feel pain. Thus with the dialogue ‘mard ko kabhi dard nhi hota’.
Whereas now with the changes in the society films like ‘Ki and Ka’ and ‘Subh Mangal Savdhan’ are being produced. Cinema has always helped people come to accept stereotypes that were earlier hated. Issues like sexuality, weight, masculinity, color and income have all been raised in cinema which helps people come to terms with their selves.
On one hand, where cinema helps people it also stereotypes body shapes, sizes, and behavior. Women are supposed to be skinnier and men are forced to have a lean body with abs. this also has risen some questions on what the cinema is feeding the younger generation. Overall everything possible in this world has its pros and cons, if people are made aware of media literacy then everyone can enjoy cinema without its negative effects.
