General News | May-27-2021
We all have a certain routine to organize our day productively. Sleep is an essential part of our daily routine. Since we were around three or four our parents used to tell us to sleep early at a fixed bedtime. Ever wondered why. It was because sleeping is very essential for proper functioning and repairing of our body and also as it makes an important part of our daily routine.
As advised by doctors, one should sleep for at least 7-9 hours, at least seven hours, no matter the person’s age. Not getting enough sleep is very harmful to us. Not getting enough sleep can lead to weight gain, diabetes, and also the risk of certain cancers. At the same time, skipping one night's sleep or only sleeping for a few hours can cause some major thinking issues and our brain functions including memory, reasoning, decision making, etc. can be negatively affected.
While we are asleep our body repairs itself to an extent. Skin is the largest sense organ also repairs itself while we sleep. Not having a proper sleeping cycle with a minimum of seven hours of sleep can cause certain skin problems to name a few; wrinkles, dark circles, and dark spots.
Skin is quite important to take care of but it doesn’t matter to everyone. But one cares about his or her immunity and internal health. Having uneven sleep cycles and reducing our sleep time can lower our body’s ability to fight diseases. Thus, making us sick more often as our sleep is linked to our immune system.
This corona time has made us realize the value of our immune system and that we should have strong immunity. So, let’s not risk our lives and include a peaceful 7–9-hour sleep time in our daily routines and stay healthy.
