Our society plays a vital role in our lives. SDGs or Sustainable Development Goals are the goals set by the United Nations for the betterment of the world and society. These goals were set to be achieved by 2030; by 193 countries in the year 2015. There are seventeen total SDGs, listed as follows:

1. No Poverty
2. Zero Hunger
3. Good Health and Well-being
4. Quality Education
5. Gender Equality
6. Clean Water and Sanitation
7. Affordable and Clean Energy
8. Decent Work and Economic Growth
9. Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
10. Reduced Inequalities
11. Sustainable Cities and Communities
12. Responsible Consumption and Production
13. Climate Action
14. Life below Water
15. Life on Land
16. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
17. Partnerships for the Goals

The second SDG, Zero Hunger, aims to achieve food security, end hunger, and promote sustainable agriculture. It is considered important for this goal to be achieved as it is believed that about 8.9% of the world’s population suffers from hunger. Though the UN is initiating several programs and schemes, at a personal level we can contribute by:

1. Not letting the food get ruined and cooking only the amount that’s needed.
2. Making donations instead of wasting food and drinks at parties etc.
3. Spreading awareness and taking small steps like putting the extra food in a common fridge on the street for the people in need.

Artificial Intelligence can also be used as an efficient helping hand to achieve this goal. It can help reduce the wastage of food in a few ways like:

1. Segregating which food output can be used for which purpose.
2. Identifying areas with increased risk of food shortage.
3. By increasing the yield using precision farming.
